No-deal Brexit would be a disaster  Mo tells the BBC

September 26, 2019: The BBC turned the spotlight on Stoke on Trent to look at how the city is shaping up for Brexit  and Mo made two live appearances.

First, he was interviewed on the BBC Breakfast programme, and then had another chat with business reporter Danni Hewson for the BBC News channels afternoon slot.

Asked about how the Brexit negotiations will impact on the city, he said: This Brexit scenario has to happen one way or the other  but we need a deal. Without a deal its going to be disastrous for all concerned.

If we dont get a deal, then economically, the most conservative estimate is that 10% of our GDP will be lost, which effectively means 10% of our income.

But entrepreneurs and business people are adaptable. Whatever happens, we will take on new challenges, and move forward. The people who will suffer the most are those who perhaps are not so adaptable.

Asked if he thought businesses were prepared for Brexit, Mo added: Well, who is prepared? How can you be prepared, because we dont know whats happening. We dont know if theres going to be a Brexit, if theres going to be a deal, or no deal  and the fact of the matter is that these uncertain times are not good for business.
