Staffordshire businessman and self-made multi-millionaire – Mo Chaudry arrived in the UK as an immigrant, unable to speak a word of English, aged just 8.5-years-old.

Moving first to Luton, then to Shropshire, Mo eventually settled in Staffordshire from Pakistan with his family. Aged 9 he started school overcoming play-ground racism and the language barrier to eventually gain a university education.

Now, the married father of three owns a portfolio of businesses, in the finance, health and fitness sectors, with a net worth exceeding £170 million pounds. He also employs 300 people across his business portfolio.

He has been listed in the 100 most successful people in the Midlands and among the 100 most successful British Asian businesspeople in the UK.

It’s far cry from the £10 a week Stoke-on-Trent bedsit he was living in at the very start of his career.

Mo’s Road to Success

Early Career

1) Started out as an insurance canvasser before becoming an independent financial advisor.
2) Achieved his first £1 million by the age of 30, then transitioned into commercial property.

1999 – Waterworld

1) 1999 Purchased a failing waterpark for £1.5 million.
2) Invested a total of £16 million to transform Waterworld into a major leisure resort.
3) Became the most successful waterpark in the UK, attracting over 500,000 visitors per year and 12 million visitors during his ownership.
4) Employed 170 people at the time of sale.
5) July 31, 2025: Sold Waterworld to the European leisure giant, Looping Group,for an undisclosed sum.

2011 – M Club Fitness

1) Took over a failed Stoke-on-Trent health and fitness site and launched the M Club brand.
2) Opened a second M Club site in Newcastle-under-Lyme in 2013, transforming it into a luxury spa.
3) Today, the two M Club sites have over 8,000 members.

Expansion – igym

1) Developed 5 gyms under the igym brand across different parts of the country.
2) Plans underway to scale igym nationally and internationally.

Leadership Roles

1) Pulse Group: Majority shareholder and Chair. Partners with 10,000 leisure facilities in over 30 countries across six continents to deliver innovative fitness solutions.
2) M Investment Group: Chair of the family investment company, specialising in commercial property and serving as the parent company for all Mo’s trading enterprises.
